I got a nice headset a friend sent me from Japan as gift, but of course it's the wrong plug etc.

Am I right in thinking I need a step-up transformer for it to work? As voltage in Japan is 100v, here in UK it's 230/240v.

I got a basic plug converter but don't want to be pumping 200 odd volts straight into something that can't handle it.

Advise?

Japan is 240 and 110v. You'd have to find out from their website or plug itself.
