It is what segment it is in. It is related to Mercedes M-Class. Want something smaller, get something in a smaller segment?
The Cherokee is the same length as a Honda Pilot, and just 5 inches wider. The Pilot is 3 inches taller. Just depends on what segment your looking at.
The Cherokee is right where it is supposed to be, and something that I would LOVE to have. It is the right size for me too.

The Durango is going to be a little longer to better fit a 3rd row.
It'll be nice once Chrysler can trash Mercedes 5-Speed Auto.
