Honda, known for fuel Economy
Pilot 4WD 16/22
Pilot FWD 17/23
Cherokee 4WD 16/22 (offer 3 different systems)
Cherokee RWD 16/23
Very competitive, plus has more power our of their engine.
Yes Chrysler uses a lot of Mercedes products. Mercedes did buy Chrysler as you all should know. Chrysler wasn't the best of companies back then, and Mercedes ran them into the ground. The CEO made Chrysler cut 40% of interior costs no matter what it took. Chrysler did a fine good job at doing that. I guess the Germans still have some resentment?
The Cherokee and Charger platforms are Mercedes, German suspension is used a lot, the 5-Speed Auto is Mercedes, and Mercedes has some rights to the new V6 series that Chrysler developed.
BMW does use a transmission from GM, but it really isn't GMs transmission, as long as you are talking about the Hybrid one. It was a joint venture with 3 different companies, so it is BMWs just as much as it is GMs.
EDIT: Oh yea, Chrysler was the other company.
You can say that GM is doing fuel economy, which they are well, but depends were you look.
Chevy Traverse AWD 16/23, FWD 17/24 and has a 6-Speed. The Pilot and Cherokee only have 5-speeds. So really not all that much difference.
You get into Sedans, that is a totally different story, because that is were fuel economy is being concentrated at, I'd say mostly due to Trucks/SUVs having different EPA requirements.
Chrysler is behind by a lot, but products like the Ram, the Cherokee and now Durango are just showing how fast they can bounce back. I would like them to do Sedans and smaller SUVs, which are all getting minor changes as well, mainly the Charger I think, but I can understand the trucks and SUVs coming first because that is what Chrysler sells the best. Start were you make your money, then move down the table.
For 2011 models, their 3.6L is going in basically everything, and most everything is getting a lot of changes. Avenger, Sebring, Charger, Patriot are all a few that have been seen on the road in disguise. The 3.6L should really help them propel themselves, and make products like the Wrangler and Caravan that are already good, better. Of which the Wrangler has a new interior and it looks nice. A lot more expensive then what it was.

Apparently, someone is working on an 8-Speed auto for Chrysler that should be out soon. Supposed to be used in the SRT8s and the Diesel truck. Supposed to handle some 850 torques. Once that transmission gets here, we will also see the Cummins diesel crank out a lot more power from the factory.
