RIP.

You need good brakes on hills like that. I have to ride down the side of an old quarry on my way to work (unless I want a 2 mile extra ride) and my shimano hydraulics with resin pads are excellent, they keep the speed controlled with plenty in reserve but damn the discs are hot at the bottom. Completely untouchable and I think if it was a much longer hill I'd be in danger of boiling the brake fluid (it's mineral oil so quite a low boiling temp).
