When you say a basic knowledge of networking I assume you mean how to plug a router into a computer and wire a basic LAN? there's some very intensive maths involved in the course base-10 and hex/binary conversion... I'm not good with maths but there are good methods to work this stuff out. If you decide to go for it, just PM if you need any help with anything
I have a little more knowledge than that but that pretty much sums it up. The maths doesnt worry me... maths is pretty much my forte - but no doubt ill hold you to that offer, cheers!

edit: what sort of assumed knowledge is there? i see there are no prerequisites to the exam but i take it they expect you to know something beforehand???
