i am so confused... is the word bum objectionable? If so is it only the UK meaning or the US meaning too.

You may be unaware that Stephen Gately was gay, so he was inferring it was something to do with his sexual preferences.

EDIT: Incase you didn't know: Bum is the UKs slang for Fanny in the US.
