I've seen Flight of the Phoenix so I'd know what to do to survive in the desert. I'd just need a pocket knife, 6 gallons of water, model airplane instructions, and enough spare parts to build an ultralight...

Uh huh, and do you really expect to find a pocket knife just laying out there in the middle of a desert?
