People are animals just like any other. These people saw something they wanted and responded just as if you had dropped a bushel of bananas next to a troupe of monkeys. Morals don't enter into it. Calculations of reward VS possible consequences/punishment are primary here.
Haven't you heard of the file sharing revolution? Dvd copying? Its all the same, and so are the calculations people make before making their decision. Morals have their say, but morals change with circumstance. (and need)
Humans just like to think we are different from the average hungry monkey. But then, we like to think a lot of comforting false things, dont we?
