I would love to buy one of those. Since the Liberty is in the same price range, did you try that out? Why did you pick the Patriot over the Liberty?
I would love to say that the Patriot would be the true successor of the Cherokee, only if it either had a diesel or a V6 in it. I have been earing that the World Engines that Chrysler use aren't the best, and that the CVT can make a lot of noise at hwy speeds and off-roading, so I hope the best to you.

I would more so say that it would be the successor if the trail rated Patriot had the 5-Speed manual, or maybe even a 6-Speed with the 1st gear being extremely low instead of the CVT.

They look wicked and grats on your purchase! I don't remember when the unlimted power terrain warranty kicked in, so where you able to pick that sweet deal up?
I don't like the look of the 2008 Liberty and it's also 10 grand more expensive than the Patriot (Limited vs Limited). The Liberty is also more hard on gas. I don't find that the CVT is noisy, it's rather quiet actually. I can't complain so far.

Sure the Patriot is no Wrangler, but I ain't gonna be doing much off-roading with it. Mainly to the cottage during the summer, driving through fields during deer hunting and then there is the snow during the winter.

My Patriot has the unlimited power train warranty and I also took an extra 3 year warranty.
