I would wait for the iPad 3 if you are going to get one. The iPad 3 will be thinner and lighter, as well it support full HD touch screen. It is supposed to use the new A6 processor, and it is also supposed to be "fingerprint proof", though I don't know how that will go. Anyone that has a iPad or iPad 2 can testify as to the how messy the screen gets with fingerprints, especially if any kids get to "play" with it. The Adobe flash debate vs html5 is ongoing, with many stating html5 will render the debate moot, but there are a few options in regards to flash content as well, including vnc or remote viewing. I don't know if the iPad 3 will have USB or not, but as Apple is moving to its iCloud services, I doubt it. There is supposed to be some new feature where it can charge wirelessly and transfer data via wireless as well. At any rate, I would hold out for the iPad 3, but that's just my two cents worth.
