Yeah, I noticed that too. It is as if they think that somehow getting a more expensive guitar will make them play better.

Expensive guitars often contain automatic enhancers, e.g. auto harmonics and hammond organ reverb modulators built in. It's also impossible to play a guitar under £500 fast; the frets literally won't let you, they'll cower away and shrink until a coldplay lick is played at half speed.
