Expensive guitars often contain automatic enhancers, e.g. auto harmonics and hammond organ reverb modulators built in. It's also impossible to play a guitar under £500 fast; the frets literally won't let you, they'll cower away and shrink until a coldplay lick is played at half speed.
Ex-****ing-actly. Though I'm sure everyone knows this already.

I bet it sounds much better too, with those active EMGs (not that the Seymour Duncans are bad at all, probably even better for jazzy sounds). What do you play on them btw? (I'm assuming it's metal) Any Metallica?
Aye hard rock/ metal mostly. Some Metallica stuff (Mostly stuff before Load/Reload). Actually sat the other day and tried to figure out the Solo in Creeping Death for shits and giggles.

The EMGs sustain like a mofo (60-81 Combo here). Very warm sounding, and have a decent crunch too. Not quite as treble-y as the Dimarzios in my Ibanez or the S-Ds.
