If you had said you think movie studios should only produce new movies in 16:9 then I would understand, but saying they should cut away half the picture to "fill the screen", then I just don't get why you would want that. Original Aspect Ratio (OAR) is important. Watch the movie not around it.


Movies are artworks. The problem is that movie lovers want to watch the movie in OAR, while some people are angry over something as silly as "the movie doesn't fill my TV screen". If they want to "fill the screen" they should use the zoom function and not force studios to rape the releases like they have been doing in the past.
There should be a standard, end of story. Artworks... lol. You either make all movies in 16:9 or give us tv sets that have true widescreen size. I'd rather have black bars on either side than above and below the picture. I absolutely hate this fowl compromise that is called 16:9. Instead of keeping it 4:3 or make it true widescreen, we now have black bars everytime, whether we watch regular tv or a movie. Crap.
