So you are saying the root language of what is the main language of all india is dwindling or is it dead ?

I cant make out from the article if its widely spoken or dwindling ?

I heard about India losing many native languages with increased globalisation and modern transport making the country smaller.

They speak the language but literary scene is either empty or we in the north do hear the echo at all.
