Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh,

I am new here, and I am happy to have found this forum, but I am also unhappy bcuz of my depression:

I've been obssessed with waswasah for almost three montsh wich made my life a trash, hamdulilah now I've learned to ignore them but I haven't learnt yet how to deal with my depression: I can't stop feeling guilty and I am afraid I will burn in hell forever, I just can't stop thinking about it, I try to remember to myself that I must be strong and faithfull in Allah's mercy but my depression is stronger then me, I feel like I can't live anymore but I neither wanna die bcuz I am afraid of hell.. I taking drugs and I wonder if it is halal in Islam?

however I must change my medication as they don't make me feel better!
I even wanted to take a cognitive therapy by a psycologist but here where I live I can't find a Muslim one!

What do you advise me to do?
I now there are many like me, and that you may be tired to respond always to the same question, but I feel so lonely as I don't have nobody who I can talk to..

Please, please, make du'a for me because I feel like my heart is overwhelmed by guilty and pain and I don't know what to do in order to feel better!

Please ask Allah to love me, I feel like I am a bad person and like I don't deserve his love, this hurts me so much.. I don't know how to change my feeling and how to control them, I've tried many times in many ways but at the ent I am always the same!

may Allah reward you for your patience and dua's. Jazak Allahu khair!

The Prophet said, ‘All the sons of Adam are sinners and the best among the sinners are those who repent.’ (Ahmad and others)

The first thing you need to realise is what we all make mistakes of one nature or another because we are humans so you have also made some mistakes.

All praise be to our Allah (SWT) who is Merciful and forgives those who ask for forgiveness so you need to turn to Allah (SWT) in sincere repentance and ask for forgiveness and ask Allah (SWT) to grant you the strength to overcome your weaknesses. It doesn’t matter what people think and it matters what Allah (SWT) thinks and you need to TURN to him with sincerity.

  1. You need to really BEG & CRY to Allah (SWT).
  2. You don’t need to do so in Arabic
  3. You don’t need to do so in front of people
  4. You don’t need any specific time

Then you need to start on a recovery plan and the first thing which you need to do is start offering your 5 times prayers DAILY & REGULARLY. If you happen to miss one or two (for some reason) MAKE THEM UP as soon as you can.

Then your recovery needs to rely on occupying your time in a constructive manner and avoid being by yourself and lonely. Its best to pick friendship with a good Muslim Sister so you can email, phone her and if you don’t have anyone then start a thread here and tell us about your progress. Tell us what you are doing, how you are doing etc. You need to MAKE SURE that you are not alone at ANYTIME!

In the meantime you need to seek medical help as we don’t know your specific condition and you need to KICK the habit and may need medical help in this regards.
