Adam is the first Prophet but he was not the first Prophet to his people as Noah.

Adam was not sent to people! He was sent down to earth without any human existing yet. However, after his off-spring appeared they acted upon what was revealed to Adam, whereas Noah was sent to people who exited already but only was sent when people started to wosrhip idols. That is why we say Noah was the first Messenger who was sent to his people.
