Thanks for the input Sister. Indeed something that is mentioned in one the verdicts posted bt Muadh dies refer to the fact that it leads to a posture which isn't very modest. I've just tried walking as if i've got hi-heels on and it's nearly impossible for me to walk naturally. In the case of a woman this would draw attention to certain parts of her body which is against the islamic concept of hijaab.
That's not nearly as big of a deal as the making noise and attracting attention bit, which correlates with hadiths on the harmful nature of other ornamental types of adornment.

If you're talking about a slightly raised heel, then arguing about posture, is quite frankly, pushing it. And I don't know if you'll win any arguments with women over that.
