tawheed is a part of our fitrah - we tend to convolute it, and are taught to go against it, but even in Polytheistic religions - There is always one Supreme god who is more powerful then the rest, thus making man and all subordinate gods subject to the "top" god. When I was searching for the truth, before I became Muslim, this is what convinced me that there is but One God, Allah - because even those who establish partners with Allah concede that there is but one Supreme entity who controls everything
