Once I asked about this to a scholar, he said that Prophet SAW didn't ask the people to give him SAW gift when he SAW is in Ayisha's (RA) house. It was just people who started to do so. Now when the people come and give gift, it is not a nice thing to ask them to give him SAW gift when he is in house of other wives. I dont think anyone of us would do for we wont find it descent and so why would Prophet SAW would do so. Allahu alam

Also I realized like the other brother amr123 that this is from shaitan trying to remove the azmat of beloved Prophet SAW from our hearts taking advantage of ignorance. Khair oce we trust Allah SWT and His Prophet SAW more and love them more, these sort of things will go away eventually iA.
