There is no scientific evidence which supports that people are born "gay". In the early 90's gay activists were positive that there was a gay gene, but when the human genone project had completed mapping our genome we didn't find any gene which suggested that homosexuality was hard wired within us.

Another study was undertaken by Dr. Alan Sanders with the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Research Institute, who is conducting a study that seeks to discover if there's a genetic origin to homosexuality. The study has been on going since 2005 which will study 1,000 pairs of gay brothers as well as straight brothers and parents and it will be looking at several genes that interact with non-genetic factors.

Six years later the study has shown nothing conclusive.
