Kerry calls for Alito filibuster, Kennedy agrees
I can only hope that Kerry, Kennedy, and their cohorts succeed in their call for a filibuster of Samuel Alito's full Senate fote for confirmation. The Republicans will defeat it in short order... but not before the full American public gets a close view of just how mendacious and obstructive the Democrats are.
The Democrats have been tripping over themselves repeatedly in their efforts to keep off the bench a judge who will point out that much of their agenda is unconstitutional. A filibuster would generate one of the harder falls they take. And the more they try, the more the public sees how unfit they are to govern.
Keep up the good work, Demmies!

Kerry will try Alito filibuster

Sen. John Kerry is trying to gather support to block Judge Samuel Alito's nomination.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry will attempt a filibuster to block the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, CNN has learned.
Kerry, in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum, was marshaling support in phone calls during the day, Democratic sources told CNN.
Sources say Kerry talked to a group of Democratic senators Wednesday, and urged that they join him. He also has the support of fellow Massachusetts Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Some senior Democrats told CNN they are worried that the move could backfire.
"This is another fine mess you've gotten us into, Johnny."
