Alito is a done deal and there is absolutely nothing Teddy or Kerry can do about it. The Liberals are taking a big one in the shorts with Alito and are also creating a huge rift in the Democratic party.
There won't be any filibuster because Alito already has the votes to overcome one and the Democrats don't have the will for such a fight this close to the election.
Politically the Democrats are almost totally neutered. They have no power to do anything but stand in the way of the Republican juggernaut led by Karl Rove. The best they can do on this is whine and get drunk.
