The essence of being a liberal:

"The absolute conviction that there is one set of rules for you, and another, completely different set of rules for everyone else."

my hope is that enough Americans will reject their naive idealism before they bring total ruin upon America and themselves. Admire their ideals, but do so with reservation. Recognize their useless brilliance, their unavailing commitment, and their uncompromising convictions, but do not permit your emotions to be swayed by their call. Their ideas are foolish no matter how often and consistently they’re repeated.
