I have reread your post and still do not see you going against Dems more than reps. In fact, I see the exact opposite. Nixon was a master at foreign policy. We can look at him ending the Vietnam War, opening trade with China and recognizing PRC and the "One China, 2 Systems" philosophy, START treaty, and others. You may disagree with his style, but you cannot agrue that his foreign policy was a failure.

BTW: One of the things I love about Clinton was during a news conference when he asked a reporter to define "sex." The problem you have is that Clinton and Nixon are so similar in style of leadership that you cannot grasp the concept that Nixon was, for the most part, a very good president. Take away the Watergate affair, and you have one who was a very accomplished politician.
I must assume that we need to agree to disagree. However, let me finish by saying, as a Californian, that I voted against him for Governor, I declined to vote for Eisenhower because Nixon was on the ticket, and voted against him for president because I could see from the Gitgo that he was the crook he turned out to be.
