I think the point she made was not meeting the President at a Republican Fundraiser. She said shed be happy to meet him in an official capacity. SHe probably doesnt want to be used to make someone else money.
Agreed. I am just going on the fact that she apparently accepted the invite, only to change her mind.

Forti said the Republican group had even arranged for Simpson to dine at one of the head tables with U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader John Boehner, an Ohio Republican. If she really wanted to avoid appearing partisan she would not accept the invite in the first place. With only this story to base an opinion on, it would seem that she did accept an invitation, however "changed her mind". Could it be that the latest Bush polls changed her mind for her?
