You ever hear the expression damned if you do and damned if you don't?

Try to stop a humanitarian crisis in Somalia and that's called meddling and the Somalies fight back.

Stay out of the humanitarian crisis in Rwanda and that's called negligence and everyone disapproves.

I think this is an area that needs to be addressed. We--meaning the world--simply cannot permit genocide, ethnic cleansing, etc, to go on. I suggest people pick up Samantha Powers' "A problem from Hell" . If there was ever a case where I would defend US "meddling" it would be in the case of genocide or ethnic cleansing. We cannot place state sovereignty over the universal right of man to live.
