My solution will be to wipe the system and reinstall, as this isn't my only bizarre oddity.

Empathy doesn't help fix your problem much either does it?

Arrgghhh!!! Reinstall?

I don't have a ghost of my harddrive.

It'll be a pain to reinstall everything....

So it's a Windows XP problem?
