Yup, that's what my Sensei told us...if you can do that everyday your kendo will be very different. I'm currently dying at 500 becoz my arms turn to jell-O. One day I'll get the thousand...
You're talking hayasuburi here right? We just did 460 zenshinkötai-men with our beginers today, usually get them up to around 1200 til the end of the first term. Me and my assistant at one practice did...what..870 or so with 910g kendokata mogitö, suprisingly easy, probably because you got a better grip of the tsuka.

Well...back to the thread. You have plenty of options if it's just running and jumping that's the problem. Suburi is always a good one or you could head down to the gym and strenghten your back, calves, triceps and wrists.If you're tight on money or time you could just do exercises at home, push-ups, crunches, back-ups, toe-push-ups and triceps-push-ups for example.
