How's it working? Did you get lucky and get one that's not slippery?
I got the one that made by e-bogu, they seem to work quite well. I haven't got slip in any form... yet. And it is quite comfortable. Only complaint I have is it doesn't help much... maybe a little bit. I got hurt again last night wearing it. Though, it is not as bad as I didn't wear it.

You should forgo that heel protector and just work on proper fumikomi. Use carpet to practice at first so you don't make a mess of your foot, and then, go to a wood floor. Or, use your kitchen floor. Anyway, that is what I'd do... And did.
Right now, I had to use the heel protector or no kendo at all. It's kinda funny last night when I asked sempai about my problem. The look on his face and a weird smile that seemed to tell me "Gambatte!", lol You should hear some of sempai heel stories, it's hilarious.

I also already got rid of my kote's wrist protector unless I get bruise up badly again. Got bruised a little bit again last night. But then again, I got my voodoo-magic-Chinese-loction (that's what my boyfriend calls it).
