There are several versions of its origin. According to historians, there is evidence that the origin of baseball dates back to the Middle Ages where a game called Stool Ball was played. In addition, at the beginning of the 17th century, evidence was found that the terms baseball and bat and ball were already being used in that period. For historians, the evolution of these sports gave rise to the current baseball.

But there is the legend of Abner Doubleday. In 1839, West Point academy cadet Abner Doubleday is said to have invented baseball in Cooperstown, New York, according to a popular American story for which no documentary evidence exists.
