Changing your name to something different so it doesn't sound funny when pronounced in Japanese is kind of pointless in my opinion. The main reason being that your name is what it is and you are going to have a bunch of people calling you one thing and the people who know your real name will be saying "who's that?"
Secondly, the Japanese language lacks certain syllables that other languages have. Just accept that things will sound funny, but that's life. Example, Ca ri fo ru ni ya vs California. Close enough.
Also, think of all the international people who get the pronounciation of their names butchered by English speakers. Now its our turn so just deal with it. At least everyone will know who you are, cause isn't that the point of the zekken?
