Girls do pick up techniques too - you may not have noticed. Girls are more subtle. When I would go out with all the blokes at uni (I was the only girl), I would throw my hands up in disgust at their complete ignorance of all the girls trying to hit on them, who would eventually give up and wander off.

For example: in a crowded bar, if a girl is trying to squeeze past and she thinks you are cute, she may do the "breast brush" against your back or chest as she goes by, and smile at you. Only girls can get away with this.

thats the kind of situations i never get in to, once i remember picking up a girl ahd she told me "ok, lets talk but ull have to buy me a drink (kinky look)" to me it was "hmm ok, seeya ..." buyng things as an entrance line its just not the way i am (even if i have the money to buy it wich usually i do) for many reasons.
1.- in this case the pick up depends of if u have the money or not, so i hate that, what if the girl meets a really nice guy but hes out of money that night.. she wont talk to him coz he didnt have the money?
2.- i prefer to pick a girl by my personality, by smiling and stuff like that. it just more effective and economic.
3.- what if we start talking and it ends up that i dont like the girl? it would be money wasted
4.- im not the kind of guy who have to be a "showman" to get girls attention, to me is "i am what u see, if you like it ok, if you dont, lets talk a bit and u will end up doing it"

anyway now that i think about it, im kinda sure of myself (not "bad guy" stuff, but FOR SURE noit a nice guy), of course i know that noone gets it all, in my experience, its imposible to be liked by every girl for obvious reasons.
i was gona do some extensive post, but this is just too big thread to be discussed here...

im not sayng nothing personal allison, its just something i remembered by reading your post
