Trust me, starting kendo at your age is a good move. You are at an age where you body is still developing so you will be more supple than most of us old farts. You'll be more energetic so you'll get more out of keiko by virtue of being able to put more in (er, if you see what I mean). And you still live at home which means that you can get your folks to fork out for your armour.
