This is really really brilliantly irritating. The text that goes with this says

"If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal.

The US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots. They are expected to go for at least 2 minutes."

Neither the homepage of the guy who made this game nor any link on the internet that I can see (search google) mention anything about pilot training. I think the email that told you about this (I presume this was an email, right?) was simply wrong.
