Agreed, that was funny.

I only saw the first of the trilogy, which was truly appalling.
I can see Peter Jackson saying "Hmm, how can we get some dwarf-tossing jokes in here?" "How can we get representation for the gay community? - Frodo?" "We need more kissing scenes!" "Sauruman's orcs aren't macho enough, and we need to write in some kind of orc-lord." "Hey, has anyone here actually read the book? No? Bugger."
Well, maybe apart from Peter Jackson - many times. Frodo - a gay icon! I enjoyed the films for what they were - a compromise. Doing the films exactly as the books would have been tedious and boring as well as films of over 10 hours length. Most of the actors playing the characters were well chosen - apart from Boromir and Faramir who were just totally wrong. And Aragorm was a bit too young.
