On a serious note I once met a japanese guy who could literally throw people with a shinai, and showed some of the 'banned' kendo stuff we don't see anymore. Garrotting with the do, ripping off men, leg trips etc were all there and were previously acceptable, so he and his friends just kept it going 'for a bit of fun' when they got a bit bored in the dojo. The tsuka strike under the men I found, errrmmm, interesting....
