You can always increase your font size locally on your browser. Something like View -> Zoom -> Zoom In or something.

Keep in mind also that changing to vBulletin might be better for the server. Less traffic, faster loading time, etc. There are also hundreds of skins you can install, so if looks is the problem then that can be fixed quite easily.
