Ian Penry does kendo in San Antonio from a wheelchair. Sounds like a great idea to pursue kendo as a way to exercise and do rehab. You will probably have to "invent" stuff yourself, but others have done it and you should be able to find instructors who will be helpful to you in your efforts to figure it out for your specific situation.
