Three employees working near the No. 3 reactor Thursday stepped into water that had 10,000 times the amount of radiation typical for a nuclear plant, Nishiyama said. I read this several times and cannot believe it, if it means what it seems to mean. What could be "10,000 times the amount of radiation typical for a nuclear plant" mean? Does it really mean that this nuclear plant is hyper-radioactive, or is this a poorly structured sentence, or am I missing something?
