Have very fond memories of watching the Soupy Sales show on New York's Channel 5 back in the 60s. Back then, there was no cable, and for my family to be able to watch Channel 5 on our old RCA Victor TV set, all the way from Meriden CT (90 miles away from NYC) was a treat all by itself. We would have to move the antenna, fiddle with the dial, and hope the weather helped, in order to get a snowy image but even with all that fuss we would occasionally luck out and watch Soupy's show. Some of the kids I went to school with used to watch Soupy Sales also, and whenever we could get Channel 5 we would talk about it at school. I remember two particular Soupy Sales' shows: one, in which he did a crazy dance he called "the mouse," and another in which he danced along to "that hip new song," Wooly Bully, by Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. I thought that was the coolest song EVER. "Watch it now. Watch it! Watch it!" Oh yeah, Soupy was great fun.
