Daquan, as a general rule of thumb, a posting in the News and Politics forum should have a link to an actual news article to back it up right from the get-go.

But what good does posting this kind of news do besides make people lose a bit of their faith in humanity?

Posting articles about the Iraq War or the workings of Italian politics is fine because things can be learned and affected through them. But what can we learn from this stuff? What can be gathered? That humans can do despicable things? That's not news.

Maybe I'm alone in feeling this, but these kind of articles, ESPECIALLY when posted with multiple exclamation points and alert symbols and stuff, doesn't really belong here.

These things happen every day, and what if we posted this "news" every time it happened? The threads on the economic crisis or climate change would fall to page 3 in an instant, and IMO learning from those threads will help us to grow as a society WAY better than reading an article that basically says, "don't rape young girls "
