Unfortunately you could have bid good night to network news at least 10 years ago.
I am a bit surprised Cronkite's passing did not get more attention on this board than it did, especially considering how much commentary Russert received. I guess the lack of play is a function of age and generational considerations.
Don't mistake me, I thought highly of Russert, especially when comparing him to his contemporaries, but Murrow, Huntley, Brinkley and Cronkite were giants the likes of which we will most certainly never see again.
