Caroline Kennedy's uncle is just rich and privileged as she is. Yet you won't find a senator in recent memory who's worked harder on behalf of ordinary working people.

Amount of wealth is a bad barometer of merit for public office. You could say that a politician of lesser wealth might be more susceptible to bribery.

Look toward Illinois.
