Eu, post up the stats on that.
the nature of radiation is that no matter how much you block is, some ALWAYS gets through. EM tunneling or other devices make it physically impossible to make a plant 100% radiation impermiable.
Now the question is, how long does it take, with current designs, before this starts becoming a problem?
Also, what about systems? Some of the plants out from 10-20 years ago are using antiquated systems that are not as well suited to this task anymore.
Lastly, what about the building itself. Agreed they are built to MUCh more exacting standards than the typical residential, commercial or industrial building, but there is a limit to what they can stand through time.
The "indefinite" lifespan is not "infinite".
Also, some specifics on the refining of the used product would be useful, such as how much OTHER stuff gets irradiated in order to process the unspent uranium?
All questions.
