Surely the whole point of the article was that British people aren't focused enough on the imbalance in Anglo-American relations? Insofar as it does mention the British political class, it suggests it is "enamoured of America... and nervous of Brussels".

I would argue that British people are more comfortable about this country's role in the world than it has been for some time.
