These things have been going on for centuries. I hate to be so negative, but humankind's capacity for cruelty and intolerance simply stuns me. Different century, different shit, but still huge amounts of it. It's at home, it's abroad, it's everywhere. Sociologically we don't seem to be evolving that well.
