The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
reported in its June 16, 2006, analysis, "

." The CDC's website points to the website of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Hansen's Disease Program. According to the HHS,
166 new cases
of leprosy were reported in the United States in 2005. The 2007 Statistical Abstract of the United States reports that there were
70 cases
in 2001; 96 in 2002; 95 in 2003; and 105 in 2004 ).
