How sad that Kurt Vonnegut has left this world. He's been one of my favorite authors for years. I've read "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater" more times than I can remember, and I get something more out of it every time I reread it. That said, I've been a fan of his short commentaries as well: one obituary I read contained the following gem he'd sent to In These Times, a magazine he contributed to sometimes.

"Dear future generations: Please accept our apologies. We were roaring drunk on petroleum. 2006 A.D. Kurt Vonnegut."

Short, far-thinking, and amusing as hell. What more could you ever ask for? RIP, Mr. Vonnegut.
