That is because it is a pile of poo. Seriously. I don't recommend Norton. Bloated, slow, and doesn't work.

Uninstall it and get AVG, Trend Micro, or Kaspersky. Don't use Norton or McAfee.

I LOVE Kaspersky, I've been recommending it for a while, since I worked at Geek Squad two years ago.
I'm currently beta testing the new version.
