Ok i just had 10 mins to sorry this, my first image is to give you an idea about looking at contours of the face.
i have used circles to indicate the light/ dark areas, your darkest areas should fall outside the circles.

Heres a quick mock up of what i meant, i had to do this on a smart phone while fighting my bloody dog off lol!

Appreciate the effort, it was a little tricky since the reference image was badly over saturated.
